Carol's Workshop: 

​

We will be spending 9 days in beautiful Florence (this includes arrival and departure days). We will spend some of the time roaming the streets, collecting reference material. Then we will head back to the studio to learn and paint together from our photos. I will show you ways to take better photos, cull through them more effectively, edit your photos, and paint from them in ways that don't make it obvious you were working from photos. You will receive handouts about everything we cover.

In addition to painting, we will sprinkle in a few touristy outings that revolve around eating, drinking and shopping in Italy!  : )

This is  an intensive painting workshop interspersed with exploring the Renaissance city that has fascinated artists for centuries. You will live in the center of Florence so just stepping out your door into the ancient streets is an experience that will live on in your heart (and reference photos!) for years after the adventure ends.

Your instructor: CAROL MARINE

Hi my name is Carol and I love to paint!

I grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a BFA in 2000. I began painting small and every day in 2006. I started teaching workshops about it in 2007, and published a book called "Daily Painting" in 2014.

I love painting scenes from out and about, of people and cars and whatever I find. I've travelled all over the world to teach and collect photo references to paint from. Florence was my absolute favorite! This ancient city is full of beautiful people in gorgeous surroundings. And the food and wine is absolutely to die for. You will not be dissapointed.

I hope you'll come and paint with me in this amazing place!
